"Springtime" is a word that evokes a multitude of ideas and feelings for most people. It is thee season of transformation, encompassing the ideas of rebirth, renewal and re-growth. The one time of year when God virtually shows off! Bringing forth in bold bright colors all the bountiful beauty of earth. The sun shines vibrantly, birds sing blissfully, and every living thing seems to begin to blossom -- even us! As God nourishes that which has been dormant all winter...
This year on Resurrection Sunday (Easter to some, but for us the celebration of Christ ascension into eternal life), the DEC Church family watched as twenty souls came to the alter to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and ten of the twenty joined our fellowship. What an amazing day, and demonstration of God's love met with anticipation of hope by His creation...
God is always up to something. His greatest desire for us is that His offer of renewal will be met by enough faith to let go of our yesterdays, so that we can accept salvation, and allow Him to do the work to create new life in us. Wherever you are planted (your church, family, job), God expects you to blossom. Not worry about what you don't have, what you can't do, where you can't go, nor even about who's trying to hindering your progress. He just wants us to learn to trust Him. Developing a relationship built on the study of His word and an active prayer life. Whenever you come to Christ -- that's YOUR spiritual Springtime! The opportunity for rebirth. Just as no two flowers are exactly the same. Your transformation season will not be like anyone else's. God has a plan uniquely etched in eternity, with your name on it. One which, believe it or not, was carved out before you were ever knitted to your mother's womb.
A life lived in Christ can be a beautifully fulfilling existence. It all depends on us and our willingness to let God heal all our past hurts and disappointments. As you enjoy the change seasons this spring please keep in mind the follow passage of Scripture:
"Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. Behold I will do something new, NOW it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert..." (IS 43:18-19)
REJOICE! Again I say rejoice! Your heavenly Father who so radiantly dressed the lilies of the fields. Who also numbered the hairs on your head. Has made you the apple of His eye. You are perfectly loved, completely forgiven. Take some time today to show off your colors by sharing Christ with someone who needs to feel His presence, and peace. Go ahead ambassador -- shine for Jesus! HAPPY SPRING!
